The Heroes of Olympus Question

A quick question about Half-Bloods religion

So the Greek gods are gods... so they are a religion... now about the whole Percy thing... he did not know about the Greek gods until he was 12... would his mother had, had him believe in a religion or do you think he was a follower of athenism... because i am suddenly really confused... like many times before

Just to add to this question: What about all those Half-bloods and there parents who didn't know that had a kid with a god? Would they still have a religion without knowing the truth?

I kind of don't get something either.. Sometimes it briefly mentions them celebrating Christmas which is a Christian holiday.

I have a feeling that half-bloods in general wouldn't even buy the existence of some sort of greater form because of their godly genes. They wouldn't believe really, they would be like "hell no!" or feel wrong inside.

But Percy wasn't with his mom often and she knew about the Greek gods, therefore wasn't religious herself, so he wouldn't have followed any religion with her. Also, I doubt Gabe was religious just by the way he was treating Sally (hitting her, etc) so... It would just have confused Percy and his mom already knew it would be particularly confusing for him specifically, so she might as well try and make it easier for him.

The only thing I might think of is that some of them might be exposed to some type of religion that promotes nature or trust or one particular belief.

And some, like Piper or Annabeth, were raised with myths, it doesn't mean they believed them but they were getting to know them. And some like Jason and Thalia of course knew about the gods straight off the bat.

By the way, people who believe in the gods are called Hellenic polytheists or Hellenic pagans

I don't think Percy had a religion, specially because his mother already knew about the gods and knew that, at some point of his life, he would be presented with a different explanation from that of some religion she might have chosen for him. In that case, it would have been just confusing for a boy. So, yeah, I believe he was an atheist until faced with the existence of gods.

I doubt it things were hard enough for Percy and he was always in boarding school away from his mom so i don't think he believed in any type of religion.

Considering Percy's upbringing (Sally, who knew about the Greek gods and Gabe, who probably never stepped within 100 feet of a church, temple, or mosque)I would doubt that Percy was brought up to believe in any particular religion.

Sally Jackson is an awesome mom so she probably let Percy believe whatever he wanted to.
