Chapter 1- Annabeth
Annabeth was nervous. There she was leaning over the edge of the Argo II waiting to see her boyfriend—Percy Jackson—who she hasn’t seen in over eight months. But something kept tugging at her mind. What if Percy had changed? Fell in love with some other Roman girl and forgot all about her? No. She couldn’t afford to think like that. She spent those eight whole months trying to look for him, and she never gave up on him. Would he? The Percy Jackson Annabeth knew was a loyal person, then again he supposedly lost his memory. Maybe he didn’t even remember her.
Piper nudged her, “You okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. Just a little nervous.”
“Well—“
“Waz’zup ladies?” Piper was interrupted by Leo. “Supreme Commander of the Argo II at your service I—“
Annabeth glared at Leo and he backed away, “Never mind.”
Horns blew in the distance. “Annabeth, Piper!” called Jason from the end of the ship. “Come check this out!”
Annabeth and Piper walk over and Jason points down at the clouds.
“What about the clouds?” Piper asked.
“Oh, sorry i forgot you couldn’t see through this.” Jason waved his hand and the clouds disperse.
“Show off.” Piper grumbled.
“There.” Jason was pointing down below them.
Around 200 heavily armed kids were down there staring up at us.
“I hope they don’t attack,” Annabeth said.
“Yeah, they’ve got alot more people than we do.” Jason pointed out.
Annabeth had wanted to bring the whole camp with them so they could help as much as possible (For Percy’s sake, she still didn’t trust these Romans) but Chiron insisted that they couldn’t leave the camp completely undefended, so the Iris and Hecate cabins and the nymphs stayed behind. Other than that everyone was on board. Grover even got a few days off to see Percy again and Annabeth personally knew that he was deathly afraid of Romans.
Even then, the Romans outnumbered them four to one. Annabeth scanned their audience for Percy. When she spotted him, her heart sinks. He was standing at the head of the crowd beside a dark haired girl.
Jason read her expression, “Relax Annabeth, they’re both wearing matching purple capes. They are just co-preators.
Suddenly Annabeth’s sadness turns to pride. According to her mother, Percy had only been awake for about a week, And in that short time, Percy had convinced them to trust him (even if he were Greek) and he had achieved the highest position possible. Annabeth smiled.
“Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen,” Leo’s voice came from the speakers. “This is the Supreme Commander of the Argo II: Leo Valdez. Yes, that’s Valdez, V-A-L-D-E-Z. I just wanted to inform you that we will be landing in a few minutes. Please be ready with all your cleverly concealed weapons and prepare to meet the Romans everybody. Thank you for flying with Demigod Air and we hope to see you again. Supreme Commander out.”
“It’s Repair Boy.” Piper mumbled.
“And no, Piper,” Leo added. “I am not just the Repair Boy.”
Jason cracks up.
“Hey—“ Piper protests. “I just—LEO!”
She storms to the captain’s room.
“I’ll just...” Jason said, “Go make sure she doesn’t... you know.”
He follows Piper.
Annabeth went up to her room. Most of the others had to share bunks with another person but Leo had added seven luxurious cabins for the Prophecy Seven. Hera had made it clear the Annabeth was one of them so before Leo had begun building this ship, she gave him special plans for her room. She knows it might be a bit too much but, if she was going to have a private room, she might as well enjoy it.
Her room was awesome, at least in her point of view. If any other ADHD demigod had come in here, they’d have a heart attack. In the corner, there was a pedestal for her shield. It was a special kind of shield that bends sun and moon light so it projects a hologram onto it. She could basically see any part of the world as long as light was touching it. A whole wall was occupied by shelves and shelves of books. She was sure she would never actually read all of these books but she was never great at packing them so she brought them all.
Annabeth was staring at a picture of her and Percy the last time they won capture-the-flag, eight months ago. The boat lurched forward.
“Welcome to Camp Jupiter everybody.” Pipers voice said from the speaker.
For a moment Annabeth was worried what she had done to him then she heard Leo shout outside, “Relax! They are just trampolines!
She straps on her pack and marches outside. She meets up with Jason and Leo. “How do I look?” she asked them.
“Awesome.” Jason said.
“Wanna do the honours?” Leo made way for her.
“Really?” Annabeth asked
“It’s your boyfriend.”
Annabeth looked over the edge. “You sure this is safe?”
“Of course, and if anything goes wrong, Jason can fly!”
He said it like it was news. All of them knew about that for eight months now. Annabeth took a deep breath and jumped over the side.
