CHAPTER NINE
I don't like the underworld...it's too hot. It's like being in Florida on the hottest day in the history of the world but 1000 times worse.
I ran through the conversation we had had in the forest after eating. We decided that, since it wasn't the weekend, Nico wouldn't be there.
We were dead wrong.
"Okay...I don't like this place...at all." Carter looked behind him and turned back, "I feel like they're all staring at me."
Janie smirked, "They are, idiot."
Nico took us to places we thought she might be.
I studied each thing we saw carefully.
I heard Janie gasp, "That's her, isn't it?"
I had shown everyone a picture before we left camp so they at least knew what the heck they were looking for.
I looked where she was pointing. "Oh, gods," I bit my lip, "It is."
Carter cursed, then added, "Now what?"
But we didn't have any time for "now what?" because she was coming right towards us.
"Hello, cousin."
"Eve," I said, "What the h-"
"Cousin, cousin, cousin," She shook her head and smiled, "You don't get, do you?"
"Get what Eve, get what?"
Her smile faded, and her eyes glinted red for about a second. "Don't you see? You wont be able to beat me, I'm too powerful."
"Yeah we will...I know we can."
"Hmmm," she looked at Carter. "Hello, Carter."
Carter looked at her, then to me, and back to her.
"How-"
"Don't question me."
I looked at Percy and Janie. Percy had tensed and Janie looked petrified.
"How," Percy said, "Are you invincable?"
She smiled, "Styx of coarse."
Great. Just great. At least we had Percy on our side.
I know, I know, too short! I was going to do more, but I HAVE to suprise you guys! Next part out tomorrow!
