Names, places, some things are bound to sound familiar. But where in the Percy Jackson world have we heard some of them?
1 The Grand Cayon
No, the place itself wasn't mentioned. But do you know where the Grand Canyon is? Arizona. Arizona ring a bell? That's where...
a) Clarisse's mom lives
b) Where Chris Rodriguez was found after he exited the labyrinth
Fun fact: Chief Architect and Decorator for the Fred Harvey Company/ Santa Fe Railroad Mary Colter designed a lot of the most unique buildings along the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Dinning, shoping, sleeping ect. Rick might put her as a daughter of Athena, an architect like Annabeth.
2 Jason
In a capture the flag game against the Hunters (In TC). Let me quote Thalia:
"We'll send a decoy to the left," Thalia told the team. "Take Laurel and Jason. They're good runner. Make a wide arc around the Hunters, attract as many as you can..."
It goes on explaining something about a main party ect, ect. There is a clue if you're vigilant enough to catch it. Laurel and Jason are fast runners. Add that to this line I found on Internet:
"The Boreads, in Greek mythology, were Calais (Κάλαϊς) and Zetes (also Zethes) (Ζήτης). They were the sons of Boreas and Oreithyia, daughter of King Erechtheus of Athens. Due to being sons of the north wind they were supernaturally gifted in different ways (depending on changes in the story from being passed down through generations and cultures) either being as fast as the wind or able to fly, having wings either on their feet or backs, depending on the myth."
And add to that the popular theory that Jason is a son of Boreas, well, you see where I'm going...
But wait! That's not it!
Sea of Monsters, p 33, chapter 3. They are on the taxi of eternal torment, also known as the Graea cab.
"We've had fameous people on this cab!" Anger exclaimed. "Jason you remember him?"
"Don't remind me!" Wasp wailed. "And we didn't have a cab back then you old bat. That was 3 thousand years ago!"
Are they talking about the Jason that led the Argonauts, or our Jason? I think, they might be talking about both.
Anger is talking about a Jason that went in the very cab. Wasp is reffering to Jason 3 thousand years ago (Argonaut-leading-Medea-heart-breaking Jason). I don't see the incredibly wise Graea, this coming from a daughter of athena (no not Roheha, Annabeth!) making a mistake like talking about having someone that lived before the invention of the cab in it.
It might just be a joke or something else. I don't know for sure. But the number of the page is interesting. 33, chapter 3. According to Rick and Chiron, 3 is an important number in Greek Mythology.
-3 Graea
-3 Fates
-3 Furies
-3 Sons of Kronos/ elder gods
-3 daughters of Kronos
-3 original muses (9 is a multiple of 3)
-12 Olympians (12 being 3 times four)
Could it be a very subtle sign? Maybe, possibly, not likely.
Also, there is of course the Jason of Jason and the Argonauts which I'm sure you guys know all about (if not re-read SoM, where he's mentioned a few times).
3. Gleeson Hedge
In LO, when Percy and Annabeth are doing their chores together, Percy is sorting threw reports. One written to Grover on a mapple leaf is from Gleeson Hedge, posted in Canada.
4. Last point, a few ressemblances.
a) This starts off on a field trip from a boarding school for "bad kids" and demigods (I'm sorry, I don't feel demigods are bad kids, so they get seperated). Notice that they are on a big trip. The Wilderness School, according to Leo is in Armpit, Nevada, while the Grand Canyon is in Arizona (thoguht the Grand Canyon is near the border to Nevada and Utah).
b) The whole thing goes horribly wrong when normal people the characters already don't like turn to monsters.
c) Both times the main character (in this case first introduced main) is already aware of their teacher's weapon. Hedge's baseball bat, Chiron's collection of weaponry he uses on tournament days.
d) Somebody uses their powers by mistake. Percy makes the water of the fountain grab Nancy Bobofit, the girl picking on Grover and Jason flies.
e)There is a main character (possibly two) named after a Greek hero. We have Percy -Perseus Jackson on one end, and JJason and Leo, which might be a nickname for Leonidaz (for more info on that go to the article "What's your name again?")on the other.

R.R has given us a new charachter!
Name: Frank Zhang
"Zhang" means Master of Bows
My first thought was child of Apollo. However the summary on the flap of the book says he is part of the great prophecy. And Apollo isn't in the Olympian week so Frank is not a sun child.
The site also says he is a master of weapons. It says he also has a spear. Add that to the fact that he had a boar near him in the video I think its safe to say Frank is a son of Mars.
So for the seven we have:
Percy Jackson Posiden/Neptune
Leo Valdez Hephaustus/Vulcan
Piper McLean Aphrodite/Venus
Jason Grace Zeus/Jupiter
and now Frank Zhang Ares/Mars
That leaves Hades and Athena
I personally think they will be Roman.
What do you guys think?
