What kind of forest was next to district 12?

was it an evergreen forest (pine) or was it a deciduous forest? Cause I live next to pine forests so its hard for me to imagine anything something different

I've been to the Appalacians where district 12 supposedly is, and it is a mixed forest. But yes. A LOT of pine there.
