The Hunger Games Question

Lenny kravitz as Cinna.

Okay, so I just found out that Lenny kravitz is the actor who's going to portray Cinna in The hunger games, and I have to say this is just not how I pictured Cinna to look like. Not even close.
So what I'm asking is, how do you feel about Lenny as Cinna?

Wow... I never though of Mischa, but now that you say that, I could definitely see him as Cinna!

I was very confused when I saw he was cast for the part of Cinna. In the books he is pale with green eyes with golden flecks so I never really imagined him as african american. Suzanne Collins helped pick out the actors and actresses thought so I trust her judgement.

Yeah, I figure if she picked the cast, Lenny must do a pretty good job bringing Cinna to the screen; I think he'll do well:)

Im honestly pissed off with this casting. It's not that I'm racist, but cinna is my favourite character and Lenny doesnt even match anything I pictured. I've always imagined cinna to be gentle and sensitive looking(he's a designer after all) so I'm annoyed that the casting directors picked someone who looked like they could enter the games to play him. I dont have a problem with the rest of the cast but I'm just pissed that they screwed up my favourite character.

It's interesting; when race isn't specified by the arthur, their race becomes completly relative to each reader. Though, like I said above, I pictured Misha for his character castiel's (supernatural) calm stregth; I don't think any of the characters should be autimatically to any one race. Yet it seems many people never picture people who aren't white (not that I can read your mind:). I think it's good that they put all different races on screen. After all, all readers are different, why shouldn't we all be represented? Web all LOVE Cinna so hopefully we can non-biasely judge Lenny's performance. Can't wait to see how it turns out!:)

I saw the movie, and he did a great job. I just was unsure, since from what I knew, he's a musician, not an actor.

It makes me hopefull when I think about how nobody pictured Katniss as the actress suzanne chose; but she seems to be a good choice judging by the teaser trailer and pictures!Hopefully Lenny's Cinna will be the same:)

Not in this pic but when I saw the real hg poster of him, I felt like yeah why not maybe I can get used to seeing him as Cinna because he's a man that can wear female stuff and not look effeminate at all. And on the poster, he's just a guy with a little bit of gold eyeliner. And I must say it looks great on him,too. I say yeah, he pulled off looking like Cinna for me. When I first saw jeniffer Lawrence as Katniss, I thought I couldn't get used to that, too. But now I feel like she's gonna do a great job and she looks gorgeous with dark hair,too. It looks even better than her own blonde hair. It makes her look like a mysterious beauty which is perfect for the role of Katniss.
All in all, I have feeling that he's gonna be great for this role but maybe I can't be objective cuz I'm a fan of his. :)
