Who is casting The Hunger Games movie?

Well LionsGate bought the rights to the book, they may have more info on their website or you could try and contact them somehow. Ive been looking because i want to audtion too! (But i havnt found much)Good luck! Oh and if you do find anything out please post it! I would be very thankful.

first of all i know you are not going to beliebe me but i am playing rue. i have the answers though: lionsgate is the company, the director is earl hitchcock, and finnaly there was an audition for rue in Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Colorado.
i was in oklahoma.

It hasn't been announced yet. However, there are a lot of creative fan-made casting lists.
I don't think that we even know who will be directing the movie...?

Quite frankly, I'm sick of those fanmade cast lists. They say Dakota Fanning in everyone of them. I'm sorry, I love Dakota, but someone more down-to-earth should be Katniss. Someone who isn't a celebrity, but can show the guts to at least try out. I want to audition for Katniss, so any info would def be appreciated. xD

I think the actor that played peter pan should be peeta JEREMY SUMPTER and katniss either an new actress or EMILY BROWNING from series of unfortunate events coz she was the stephanie mayers fave to be bella in twilight

the casting company is Lionsgate I'm pretty sure.

im not sure about the whole cast but i think Cody Linley should play Peeta. He would be perfect!

The best bet is to go with no names. They always tend to be the best actors and typically have no drama whatsoever due to being in small roles. As long as they don't screw this movie up then I'm all set...

I think the cast should be English too- Prim she sounds like she's from the Arian race...
I also think that the cast should be made up of new people and not celebrities. I did want to audition for Katniss but I'm way too young- but I would like to be considered for Rue, Prim or even maybe Johanna- any information would be so heplful- I also think my brother should audition for Gale!

Hey I am from Australia, do u think they will do auditions here well because I wanna try out for the role of Gale I am very athletic and I have a scar on my face from falling of my BMX and it is kinda in the possition of his according to the books so yeah any info will be greatly apprieated loads.... The new book MOCKINGJAY comes out in 65 days over here it will be awesome I hope the movie is an MA15+ because movies that arnt a sappy and childish no offence I hope peeter dies in book 3 he sounds like a looser haha

I heard somewhere I think yahoo answers (So I don't know if it is reliable, probably not) that they were doing a casting tour. I don't know if that is true or not but I hope so we all want to try out in my family: My little sis wants to go for rue or prim my brother for peeta though I think he would be a better gale and my and my older sis want to go for katniss. But yeah. I don't know I hope they do.

Come on! Please people. Let's be serious. Me and the person who asked and others just want to know. I want to play as Katniss, but i'm Louisiana Creole, so i'm guessing I could play Rue, but I people say I look between 15 and 16. I really want to give it a shot. If any news of it comming through Texas, please spill.

I know some people have been saying that there'll be a casting tour: I'm 99.99% sure there will NOT be one. My dad knows a producer who does movies, and I believe she said no.

Well, if anyone knows how long it takes to approve a script for a movie, that should give you a good idea about the casting process. Casting picks happen right after the script has been approved, and we just received news May 28 about Collins turning in her script to be approved, so... give it about a week or probably a month for the script and there's the picking time. So either they're picking up the actors already without others knowing or they are still looking around. However, if Lionsgate wants to be more popular, esp. with this big time movie, the best strategy would be to pick a fresh new talented actress with lots of spirit/spunk.

Ya I want to play Prim because I love her charecter and I look like her to! Last i heard they are finishing up the script so yay

Okay, so all you people who are saying that the auditions have already happened that is not true. My friend and I called the official LionsGate number and they told us they would not have any information until December..
Obviously meaning that they have not casted the movie yet, and they most likely wont until next year.

I heard that the creating company for The Hunger Games would be Lionsgate which makes me excited since they are an amazing company. If soi would die to be Rue i am twelve i sing,climb trees(all the time),i have her build and im a lot like how she acts. This would be huge opportunity for me which i would love to take:))))

I seriously think it should be an open casting call, so unknown actors/actresses get a chance at it. It worked amazingly well with Harry Potter, didnt it??! (I'm not saying this cause I want to audition, I live in the UK and don't really look like any of the characters anyway :/ lol)
