The Hunger Games Question

Don't think me cold-hearted...

...but I didn't really like rue! And I wasn't that sad when she was killed. Does anyone else not love her so I don't have to feel like an evil bitch lol?

Same here. I didn't hate her, but honestly, I don't think her character was written well enough for me to truly like her and miss her after she died. I was much more sad about (spoiler alert!) Cinna and Finnick.

I didn't like her either, she was really annoying and I think it was really stupid of Katniss to befriend her in the Games.

Just because you weren't all that sad when Rue died doesn't make you a bitch. It just means that you were not as attached to her as some others were. I wasn't all that attached to her when she died. I was a lot more upset when Finnick died.

When we focused on Rue in the book, it was only for a chapter or two. There really wasn't enough time to get to know her. That's probably why poeple werent as devastated as Katniss when she died. I think why people, and Katniss herself, we're attached to Rue was because she was so much like Prim, Katniss's sister. So, when she died, Katniss felt like Rue was her sister, dying, and she had been too late to save her. Then, what really got me, was when she covered her in flowers, and sang her to sleep. I cried. I really did. So, no, I was not too attached to Rue's charactor, but I was emotional when she died because I could feel Katniss's emotions. She was too late. Like she failed Rue. Then, she was thinking of Prim. Oh, I just cried. I think it was Rue and Prim's connection, and the fact that Katniss did what she did while Rue was dying, made me like Rue.
