No one has seen the movie yet. It's not in theaters until March 23rd of this year.

The book, however, is set in a dystopian country (Panem) in the future. Panem is made of 12 districts and a capitol. Years ago, the 12 districts tried to rebel against the capitol but it didn't work. To show the districts that the capitol is very much in charge, every year one boy and girl in between the ages of 12 and 18 are chosen to compete in The Hunger Games. In The Hunger Games, the 24 tributes are put in an outdoor arena, where they are forced to fight to the death. Only one survives. The book is about a sixteen year old girl fro District 12, Katniss Everdeen, and her experience being a tribute.

actually, it's a book. the movie will be out on March 23.

Several years from now, North America is divided into 12 districts which is ruled by the capitol and to show their power, the capitol decided to have games wherein the participants are forced to kill other participants in order to win. The participants in each district is chosen through the reaping (like a raffle).

One, the movie isn't out yet and two, it is about the remains of North America that got split into districts and the capitol forces two kids from each district a boy and a girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to fight to the death on live tv for other peoples amusement. Rated PG 13 so it couldn't be that gory. Other than that you have to read the books to make sense of it or else the movie would just ruin it for you. READ THE BOOKS BEFORE YOU SEE THE MOVIE!
