Did Katniss change her name to Katniss Mellark?

This is funny because I recently posted a question asking if the epilogue even says that they are married. I dont believe that they say that straight out. We are just meant to assume that they are married because they have 2 kids, so I cant say if Katniss changed her name.

I dont think we know the answer to that. But probably not since so many ppl in Panem know her as Katniss Everdeen :)

I'm not sure if she did either. Maybe she has a hyfinated last name and became
Katniss Everdeen-Mellark. The book doesn't say if she took Peeta's last name but it would be very romantic if she did.

*SPOILER* At the end of Mockingjay, the epilogue, is very vegue, saying about Katniss and Peeta's children, but not their names. It's very hasy and I really wanted to know more. But, they don't say straight up, Katniss changed her name to Katniss Mellark. Of course it didnt. And because the epilogue isn't very informational, it doesn't even give us a hint. But if I had to guess, I would say no, because of Katniss's bold personality, devotion to family, and the fact that she was the face of a revolution, one that worked in the favor of the people, so really, she couldn't change her name. Just like when really famous people get married, they mostly leave their names alone. Because every one knows them by that name. And everyone knew Katniss Everdeen, the girl who was on fire. #HG

It can't be confirmed, as the epilouge was very vague. It can be assumed that Katniss and Peeta are married, so she may have changed or hyphinated her last name. It can't be entirely sure, because there probably won't be any sequels or spin-offs.
