Definitely. She may not be exactly like I pictured Katniss but she really captures Katniss's essence and you know what? Sometimes it's nice to have a seperate image in your head for the book and for the movie.

I think Jenn was one of their best cadting choices. On the other hand we won't really be able to tell until the movie actually comes out, will we?

No I don't. Of course I started reading the Hunger Games before there was even talk of doing a movie. She doesn't match the character's description at all physically. She's blonde, has blue eyes, isn't skinny (she's not fat, but she doesn't look like she's starving), and she looks her age. Maybe she can act, but there are other people that can act too that look like Katniss. So I don’t think she was meant to play Katniss, more like Ross knew before he got the director’s job he wanted her be Katniss. He also wanted Josh which is why he had lunch with both of them (separately) before casting even began. It would have been nice if they had gone with unknowns and done a country search instead of picking high profile actors.

She dyes her hair for the movie, that's not a problem, and blue eyes look very close to grey. It's not about whether she can act precisely - more like, can she act as _Katniss_. I think Jenn can project Katniss's personality so it I don't really care what she looks like.

Except you know that her hair is dyed. Personally, I think I movie based off a book is more about bringing the book to life, over just being a movie. They should try and make the movie as close to the book as possible, maybe then we'd have better movies. So far the reviews are basically saying the movie is good enough, it just can't compare with the books. And honestly, you're predicting that Jen can portray Katniss' personality based on faith of the movie creators. Non of the clips in the trailer have shown Katniss' real personality. So far all we've seen is a scared girl, not the fierce doesn't trust anyone girl on fire.

No not really..I don't want to start a movie war but this seems to be heading in the crappy direction Twilight did in the first movie. Jen seems to have very little personalilty which can be good for the role at times, but I'm alittle worried about the passionate moments in the movie where she might seem to have no passion whatsoever. She also isn't stick skinny which is what Katniss is portrayed as, a poor, starving girl from district 12 poaching for food to save her family. When I watched the trailer, I saw the reaping and I saw her in that dress and my only reaction was "Oh my god.....that's not Katniss"

I didn't want to form any opinions until the trailers began to come out. And after watching them, I think she is perfect. She looks the part and I think she is really going to portray Katniss perfectly.

From the beginning. I was on imdb and I saw her as Katniss Everdeen and my first thought was OMG! She is really pretty and she deserves to be Katniss. She has experience and I think she is going to get an Oscar nomination and all those other awards that involve films.
