I think it was amazing! I feel like they stuck pretty close to the books, I mean there were some changes but that's to be expected. I really really really liked it!

I loved it. :P I liked almost everything about it, but the things that I didn't like were that Madge didn't even exist and that Katniss bought the mockinjay pin at the Hob, that Peeta didn't have blue eyes (Josh could have worn contacts) and that they didn't use the sleep syrup of do the whole leg thing. The wound didn't open up again, Peeta didn't get blood poisoning and Peeta didn't lose his leg. In my opinion, he should have. That was one of the most emotional parts on the book. Expecially when Katniss finds out. But overall, I think I was a great movie and I would watch it again.Obviously they can't put everything in the movie, but I think it would have been better if they did the leg thing.

Ps. I watched it yesterday XD

I thought it was okay. It could have been better with the camera shots whhile they were running and fighting, but other than that, I thought it was pretty good. I know a lot of people are going to say they don't like it because they missed a lot from the book, but the book isn't the movie. They can't put EVERYTING in aa 2 hour movie!

I really liked it a lot. It was about 2 and a half hours long, but I was never bored.

The fighting sequences were really quick, but that's because they can't show too much violence up close and personal and still get a PG-13 rating. That's just the way it is.

I think all the actors were great and I was impressed.

I thought the film was truly brilliant. The pacing of the film made the two-and-a-half hours running time feel more like an hour-and-a-half.

Jennifer Lawrence played Katniss in a very understated way which I really liked, but then again the role is quite similar to her's in 'Winter's Bone'. (Ross and Lawrence ensured that) Katniss remained a strong female character, not reliant on a man to help her out, which so many other (Hollywood) films do. There didn't seem to be a lot of chemistry between Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson.

The supporting cast were possibly my favourite part of the film, in particular Elizabeth Banks as Effie Trinket and Stanley Tucci as Caesar Flickerman. (The Capitol scenes in general surprised me as they could of made it look tacky, instead it was bright but not garish, and some of the sets looked incredibly big.)

The editing was quite fast paced throughout, which, for me, at times, was slightly too fast. The fighting sequences were enthralling though and said editing fitted well at these parts. The reaping had a real sense of oppression about it which I believe was perfect at conveying the brutality of the whole thing.

The ending (after Katniss and Peeta win) felt quite rushed compared to the rest of the film. I would of liked to have seen Katniss and Peeta's recovery. The fact they didn't even place the berries in their mouths, like they do in the book, instead the Gamemakers simply changed the rules (again) felt somewhat anticlimactic.

Yes they left parts of the story out, but this only annoyed me a few times and probably only because I've read the books. If you were to see the film without having read the book, I think they covered the plot well.

Overall, I throughly enjoyed the film, (which could of turned out much worse), it is a worthy adaption, and with Ross and co. on board for the sequel, 'Catching Fire' could well be just as great.

It was amazing in my eyes. Maybe because I didn't go in with high expectations. I usually don't when a movie is being made based off the book because movies usually don't compare but this movie was really faithful to the book and I did enjoy the extra things added in as well.

I liked how they gave the gamemaker a bigger role. After all in the books he was barely even mentioned in the first one but in the movie he had such a good role. Also the scene after Rue's death when her district began to riot, that broke my heart </3

I loved the casting as well. Jennifer Lawrence was perfect for Katniss. She is just so naturally beautiful and was an amazing actress. She did amazing at the reaping scene and I definately felt a connection with her. They couldn't have done better. I also liked Cinna, Haymitch, Rue, Prim, and Gale. They could've gotten a better Peeta but he still did a great job. I was very pleased.

I was kind of upset that they didn't include the scene that Katniss got the basket for honoring and helping Rue. They also left out the fact that the huge dogs/wolves had the actual eyes of the dead tributes (but that was sort of disturbing so perhaps it was for the best but still!)

But my biggest problem was the ending. Sure it was cute how Katniss and Peeta were together but the ending where Katniss reveals she was putting on an act and thought Peeta was also was a very vital part of the books and set up the conflict for the 2nd book about them having to pretend to be in love for the capitol.

Overall I really did like it and it definately fulfilled my expectations :) <3

I'm thinking they will definitely bring up Katniss putting on an act in the beginning of the next movie. I think it's possible that they didn't want to leave that as a cliffhanger.

i agree with you, i was kind of upset at the end when Katniss didn't reveal to Peeta that she didn't really love him/she was confused about her feelings for him.. but it was still a good movie :)

I really liked it actually. Most of the scenes were excellent and it was fast paced. But that's the thing. To me, there wasn't enough talking between Rue and Katniss as well as Peeta and Katniss. They didn't get a chance to bond properly.

I bawled my eyes out when Rue died. The thing that got me the most though was how disturbing it is. It's not as violent as it could have been; but because the book is in 1st person and the movie is in 3rd; you see a lot more deaths. I found this very disturbing and it kind of frightened me a bit.

I even teared up at the beginning at the reaping; that was really emotional. I also felt sick at times that all the Capitol were going mental over these kids dying. In the book, I never really felt that the capitol were very overwhelming cause Katniss does a lot of telling; but since a film SHOWS; it was more disturbing then it is in the book.

I enjoyed it, and want to see it again actually; I didn't mind the minor stuff they left out. Maybe it will be better for Peeta to have his actual leg. I LOVED when she shot the arrow at the Gamemakers and she bowed and was like, "thank you for your consideration" and left. I just wish Plutarch had fallen in the punchbowl. But that was definitely my favourite scene.

Overall for me: 4 out of 5
