How did you feel when Prim died?

annoyed..I didn't think it was necessary.that book dissapointed me alot.

The whole thing was kind of surreal because it happens so quickly and with so much confusion. It wasn’t until Katniss broke down with Buttercup that I broke down. I was depressed for days. But, once I made up a fake ending and really thought about the death, while I didn’t like it, I could respect it. It was the irony that made me appreciate Prim's death. There's that whole part about how none of the series would have happened if Katniss hadn't been protecting Prim, but then it goes even further. She doesn't just die, she dies by fire, Katniss' signature. So much thought was clearly put into, that Collins probably planned Prim’s death first before anyone else’s. I also stand by the death because of what Collins was trying to teach; you can’t control who lives and dies in war, and all the deaths are pointless/unfair.

what nglenn said. I felt bad though. Katniss made it her job to protect Prim at all times and for her to loose her is very heartbreaking.

I flipped out and I was pissed off...

really, really sad and kinda annoyed because the whole point of the series was to save Prim and Collins just killed her off. i was like, why not kill off Peeta or Gale?

Prim was my second favorite character,,,,,,

I read that part, and I was like *GASP* and then I was like NOOOOOOOOOOO! And then I thought that Katniss's efforts to try to protect Prim from death went to waste! So then I was like GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I kind of had mixed feelings. Part of me was really sad, because Prim was innocent and did no harm; but part of me was like, "Really Suzanne Collins? You killed another one?"
I was way more sad when Finnick died, though.

I don't remember exactly, but I'm pretty sure I felt an empty sort of feeling. Prim was so innocent, and she didn't deserve to die.

I cried and i was yelling "NOOOOO PRIM!!!!! DONT LEAVE US!!!!!!!!!!!" T-T

I cried. Hard. And then threw the book at the window. B|

PRIM DIED?!?!??!?!?! I DIDNT FINISH THE BOOK!!!!!

It was unnecessary and totally random. A lot of the deaths were sorta inevitable, but not Prim's. At all. If she had to kill someone unnecessarily, it should've been Gale while in the process of killing Prim. I hated him after that, anyway.

I actually didn't notice at first...

I was kind of upset but when Katniss started yelling at Buttercup about her I lost it and started crying :'(

HAPPY!! now I probably have some haters...

I was shocked and was in disbelief. And the irony of it all that the reason why Katniss volunteered for the hunger games was so her sister wouldn't die and then she dies in the last book just made the whole thing so much sadder.

Well, unfortunately I had heard about it before I read the book, so I knew it was going to happen and it didnt hit me as hard as it probably would have.
I dont know if I would call her death necassary, but I think it worked because the reason Katniss went into the 74th Hunger Games was to protect Prim, but when Prim ends up dying anyways I feel like it shows that the situation is about so much more than one person.

OMG! at first i didnt understand what katniss was reffering to, but when she said duck tail...i seriously slamed my book close, threw it to the wall and started sobbing in my bed. i cried and cried...cuz katniss went through ALL of this mess for saving her presious little sister...and now...grr gale..but it wasnt his fault...

I cried because I related Prim to my little sister Dylan who looks just like they described Prim and if anyone EVER laid a hand on Dylan, I'd be out for blood.

I cried when i read the book and while watching the movie. I don't know for you, but in the book, her death was a little incomplete for me... I didn't know she died until Buttercup came along.
