But yeah your right a couple of times when i was reading the series it's crossed my mind. But then I thought are the other countries obliged to help the USA if it broke into a Civil War? Like what if the government was split in two who are they supposed to help?
If they did help a side it would end up being another World War. After that war is over there would be boundary changes, new alliances, rules, maybe more or less free countries and revolts within the new countries. Practically a new word order/era/in general.

Why I said more/less free countries is because I don't think sector 13 rebuild every thing and got new equipment by themselves. I think that they had to have had help from somewhere else and free countries would side with the rebels to probably gain new allies if they won.

I would like to see the series continued though.

The rest of the world was destroyed by droughts, fires, earth quakes and other natural disasters leading to a new world which became Panem then the wars started (dark days) and that`s how the whole Hunger Games starts up.
