My Friend wants to start getting into The Hunger Games and she wanted to know which is better: Watching the Movie first or Reading the Books?

Read the books first. They'll help you better understand the movie and give you some back story.

Read the books first. I command you to find Catching Fire and Mockingjay, and read them, so that you will not be a crazy fangirl who obsesses over how hot Finnick Odair is (because all arguments over Peeta/Gale will disappear when Finnick is finally introduced) before knowing how awesome he is, and that he already has Annie.

Please do note that this is not all written in complete seriousness. Except for reading the books first. And becoming a crazy fangirl.

Read the book well at least Hunger Games before the movie so if you get a head ache from watching the sucky filming (the movie was good but the way they filmed it hurt my head and eyes.)you'll know what happens.

Reading the books for sure. But try reading the first or first two now. Then watch the movie when it comes out on DVD this Saturday :)

I think you should read the book first because its more detailed

deffinently read all three books first. The author puts in so much detail that the movie couldnt express and the movie changed it up a bit.

I think you should read the book first because, I went to see the movie before I saw the book and it is kind of hard to get into the movie befor reading the book

personally i like reading the books first ... watching the movie kind of changes ur point of view of the characters and the movie sums up the book ... doesnt always have the adrenaline the books contain... but then again thts my opinion

Defiantly read the book first because the movie misses some key points. Plus the book is always better

Reading the books... that's what everyone else did. Then when you see the movie you can be like that character fits that character or that character should have been so and so... perfect sense.
