im not sure exactly what year it is, but i think it takes place some time in the futur because on the back of the hunger games book, it says something like 'in the runes of a place once called north america' so im guessing it takes place some time in the futur. and plus, in the capitol, the technology is so advanced (even though its no real)that it must take place in the futur.
