why does link have a train in spirit tracks why not good old epona?

I know! Epona is awesome. Question, why is it Epona can jump over Gerudo gorge, but can't jump over the small stream in Hyrule field?

XD Excellent point. Not to mention her practically jumping down a cliff, when you first get her in OoT.
